Why I use a block of cheese rather than store bought shredded cheese?
Sadly, store bought shredded cheese often comes with more preservatives to keep their shape. I prefer to buy a block of cheese which usually contains no more than milk and salt. Here's my favourite brand.
Make sure to use puff pastry instead of shortcrust pastry, as the puff pastry gives that crispy, puffy texture that is suitable for these pizza scrolls.
You can always use pure tomato paste instead of pizza sauce, however, I would add some sea salt and herbs to it to add more flavour.
